The Forefront of the Covered Bridges Half Marathon

Now less than a week away from the Covered Bridges Half Marathon, Stag members are making final adjustments to their training logs. Mostly training by themselves due to increased working lives, The Great White Stag will rejoin on Sunday bright and early in Woodstock, Vermont to challenge countryside view seekers as well as some semi-elite runners in the 13.1 mile winding dirt road course that cruises through the Vermont countryside.

Keith Drake and Chetan Huded are among favorites in this 1800 runner race, both having bested previous winners or placed within the top three in previous years. Depending on the weather (sources predict 65° and cloudy), the two could look toward running as low as 70 minutes. Justin Montgomery and Jeff Colt hope to round out the top 5 and Harrison Little could post a time as low as 74 minutes for a top 5 finish as well.

Although a Stag sweep would be very nice, I am sure most members are looking forward to an enjoyable day of running, a free massage and beer at the finish, and of course, some free stuff.

While these five Stage members run the Covered Bridges Half Marathon (www.cbhm.com), they will be rooting on fellow Stag Andy Wheating as he runs for NCAA gold on Wednesday June 9th.
